Grumble's first movie

Dr Grumble has just had a go at making his first movie. It hasn't been a 100% success but it is a start. For a first movie it is not that bad. The one thing Grumble has not succeeded in doing is embedding it here. It works well in the blogger preview but when it is published you can only see half the image. So if you want to see the Grumble movie you will have to visit Xtranormal. The movie is called Matron Healthcare.

I like the movie and the bit about the BMA but don't agree with some other bits. Nice try at movie making though.

To embed properly, you need to adjust the width and the height in the xtranormal embed code, because the width is too big for your post.

Go to the HTML mode in your post, then change the width of the embed code from 480px to 420 - and the height from 390 to 330. You need to do that to all the values re width and height in that HTML embed code.

Then it will fit purrrrfectly :-)

Thanks, Sam. I did try altering the code but it seems from what you say that I may not have got it quite right. I will have another go.

There are each mentioned 4 times in that code. I amended them and it works.

I've tried to paste it here for you but blogger won't allow!

It's a problem pasting html because the code is read.

As you may have guessed, I haven't had much success so far.

But you did paste a code from xtranormal before in your previous post. I copied your movie's code from the xtranormal site, pasted it into one of my posts (Older one) then amended height to 330px instead of 390, and width 420 instead of 480 .. then I published - and it worked

I had to amend that width and height 4 times though because your code is so long. With youtube, for example, w and h are only mentioned twice . but they are mentioned 4 times in your movie code and unless you amend them all, it won't work.

Try again and good luck :-)

The mistake I made the first time was that I did not spot all the numbers that I needed to change because, as you say, Sam, the code is longer than is usual. Also I was using different numbers. But even using your numbers and trying carefully to change all the numbers that need to be changed I still did not get it to work.

I will have yet another try.

I gave up in the end, Sam, and did a work around using youtube. Thanks for your help.

:-) you're very welcome Dr G ... I suppose maybe you either moved something else or mixed the height with the width, because some HTML codes switch them around on purpose to cofuse people so that they do not alter the code! Maybe I should make a post about resizing, next week.

And I am trying my hand at making movies myself! Not bad .. I think I can get addicted to this .. for a while, soo, thanks for the idea!

:-)

I didn't actually spend much time making the movie, Sam. And it really is fun. It is a curious thing that in a movie you can get some messages across that it would be awkward to portray in any other way. After watching my own movie I almost began agreeing with some things the character from Matron Healthcare was saying that I certainly don't fully subscribe to myself!

But you wrote the senario, no?!

.. and I've already made 3 movies trying different combinations, effects .. etc . but may ignore because they are just funny and all about the same thing, just to test the programme .. nothing with a point of view like yours .. yet

But I like this sort of thing and can get hooked ... for a while :-)

I just made a short movie and when I tried to post it, it gave me half a blank gray screen too! I then went into my xtranormal account, reloaded it then saved it afresh, copied it's code and it posted fine .. without even resizing! Try it.

Where Grumble has failed others have succeeded. That is the wonder of the web. We can all help each other out.

Thanks, Sam. And thanks Subrosa.
